The CEOC Family Planning Program also offers the school-based KYB sexuality education program, in all Cambridge public schools to all 5th and 8th grades, 9th grade health classes at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School and other parochial schools in the city with parental consent. The goals of the program are to provide accurate information about reproduction and sexuality, especially related to the changes of puberty; to provide an opportunity for the students to examine and discuss their feelings and attitudes about puberty and sexuality; to enhance self-esteem; and to develop skills in decision-making and communication. Because CEOC believes that parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children, parental involvement with the “Know Your Body” class is encouraged and promoted.
