CEOC is a Visionary Awardee!

We are pleased to announce that we are the recipient of a Cambridge Chamber of Commerce Visionary Award, honoring excellence and innovation. Along with 7 other organizations who received the award, we are honored to receive this recognition. The award honors individuals or organizations "who have been working on innovation and discovery, making a positive community impact, or working on products or research aimed at enhancing and enriching people’s lives."


The Chamber will hosting an award ceremony on Thursday, November 20th at 5:30pm at The Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge Hotel. To purchase a ticket, click here.

Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee (CEOC) – CEOC has provided high-quality, dedicated and respectful anti-poverty work in Cambridge for 60 years. Throughout those years CEOC has responded to the emerging needs of Cambridge. CEOC continues to provide culturally responsive programming and bold, grassroots-driven models that challenge the status quo.


The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) – Under the leadership of Mike Johnston, the CHA has proven to be both innovative and creative in the field of affordable housing. They have been successful in securing millions in funding which has resulted in tremendous investment in their portfolio of affordable housing. Fully 10% of Cambridge’s population lives in CHA housing units.


Harvard Biodesign Lab and Harvard Move Lab – Under the leadership of Dr. Conor Walsh and the teams at Harvard’s Biodesign Lab and Move Lab have demonstrated extraordinary ability to integrate cutting-edge research with real-world impact in the field of wearable robotics and human performance enhancement. These technologies are already making meaningful contributions in healthcare-related industries.


IQHQ Alewife Park – Alewife Park is bringing new life to Cambridge. IQHQ is transforming a former industrial site into a world-class hub for research and innovation that restores public access to surrounding natural areas and connects neighboring communities. Spanning 26 acres, Alewife Park will feature premier lab and office space, restaurants and a fitness center. This development will offer expansive green space, revitalized wetlands, and a mile-long nature walk with boardwalk access to Jerry’s Pond, along with communal gardens and an eco-center for educational programs.


Just A Start’s Economic Mobility Hub – The new 70,000-square-foot, mixed-use development at Alewife brings together state-of-the-art education and job training center, affordable housing, childcare, and services available to the entire community. The Hub is on track to serve 2,800 individuals annually.


Lemelson MIT (LMIT) – LMIT is a national leader in advancing invention education. LMIT has helped thousands of students and educators learn to invent and has recognized hundreds of collegiate and mid-career inventors for over 25 years. Its research offers evidence that its creative, transdisciplinary problem-solving approach known as invention education helps students of all backgrounds develop interest, confidence and capabilities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).


Nanopath – A Series-A stage diagnostics startup headquartered at the Engine. The company was founded with a vision to improve women’s health by developing point-of-care molecular diagnostics for common infections. Nanopath’s breakthrough technology has potential to improve outcomes for women by arming patients and providers with laboratory-quality diagnostic results within 15 minutes, allowing patients to leave an office visit with a targeted treatment plan.


Pascal Technology – This climate tech startup has emerged from breakthrough materials research at Harvard’s Department of Chemistry under Dr. Jarad Mason’s leadership, developing revolutionary solid-state refrigeration technology that promises to reshape the cooling industry. Pascal’s technology has applications spanning HVAC systems, data centers, and industrial heating and cooling, positioning it to make substantial contributions to global decarbonization efforts.
