Meeting the Moment

On November 1st, for the first time in the program's history, SNAP benefits did not go out to recipients, which includes over 10,000 Cambridge residents. We have received a spike in calls, emails, and walk-ins, people worried about how they're going to put food on their table without their SNAP benefits. CEOC is trying to meet the moment and step up for our Cambridge neighbors. Thanks to the City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Community Foundation, we will begin distributing grocery store gift cards to SNAP recipients who are age 60+, living with a disability, or parents/caregivers with children. You can find more information on the City's website. We're also stocking our food pantry with extra pantry staples, fresh produce, and protein to meet the increasing demand at the pantry. We are committed keeping our shelves stocked throughout all of pantry service so that no matter if you come at 10am or 6pm, you'll get the same great, fresh food.

If you are in need of food resources, please check out the Cambridge Food Resource Guide, which has information about local food pantries and community meals.

If you are in a position to help us meet the moment, please consider donating to CEOC either through our online donation form, by mailing a check, or donating grocery store gift cards for community members. Anything helps.
